01 — What "same-day" means

Teeth in a day, said honestly.

"Same-day" or "teeth in a day" is the common name for immediate loading: fixing teeth onto implants right after they are placed, instead of waiting months with a gap or a removable plate. Here is exactly what that means at our clinic.

Within your first visit

Your implants are placed, and fixed temporary teeth are attached to them before you fly home. For a single tooth that is usually the day of surgery. For a full arch, the temporary bridge is usually seated a few days after surgery, once the first swelling has settled, so it can be fitted properly.

Temporary first, final later

The teeth you leave with are a healing-phase temporary, not the final result. Implants need 5 to 6 months to fuse with the bone. Your final crown or bridge is made and fitted on a second visit after that, by our in-house lab.

Single tooth or full arch

It works for a single missing tooth, for several, and for full-arch treatment on four to six implants (All-on-4). The rules for who qualifies are the same in each case.

Same price

Same-day loading does not cost extra. A single implant is from $1,200 all-in (implant, abutment and crown); All-on-4 is from $9,000 per arch. Your written plan shows the full price before anything starts.

02 — Who qualifies

When conditions allow it. Not an automatic guarantee.

A fresh implant can only carry a tooth from day one if it is held firmly enough and protected from too much force. Dr. Sara gives a first view from your photos and X-rays, checks it on the CT scan, and confirms it during surgery.

Bone structure

There has to be enough bone, dense enough, for the implant to be firmly anchored the moment it goes in. Where bone is thin or a graft is needed first, a staged approach is safer.

Your bite

How your teeth meet matters. Heavy grinding or clenching, and some bite types, put too much load on an implant that has not healed yet. Sometimes that can be managed by adjusting the temporary; sometimes it rules same-day out.

Gum and general health

Active gum infection needs treating first. Smoking and uncontrolled diabetes slow healing and raise the risk for any implant, and especially for an immediately loaded one.

If it is not safe

We tell you, and explain why. You then follow the standard two-trip route on our dental implants page. Your implants still go in on the first visit; only the timing of the teeth changes.

03 — How it runs

Two trips, teeth in between.

  1. Before you travel: send recent photos and X-rays, or a CT scan if you have one. Dr. Sara gives a first view on whether same-day is likely, with a written plan and total price.
  2. Visit 1, day 1: CBCT 3D scan and final surgical plan. You approve the plan and price before anything begins.
  3. Visit 1, surgery: extractions if needed, and the implants placed. Dr. Sara measures how firmly each implant is held; that is the moment same-day is confirmed.
  4. Visit 1, before you fly: fixed temporary teeth attached and the bite adjusted. Single teeth usually the same day; full arches usually a few days after surgery.
  5. 5 to 6 months at home: soft, no-chew food while the implants fuse with the bone, with photo check-ins on WhatsApp.
  6. Visit 2: the final crown or bridge, made by our in-house lab and fitted to your healed gums.
04 — Worth knowing before you book

The temporary is for smiling, not for chewing.

Same-day teeth let you leave without a gap. They do not let you skip the healing.

Soft food the whole healing window

The implants must not be loaded while they fuse. No nuts, crusts, raw vegetables, tough meat or gum. It is the one rule that protects the whole treatment.

Its fit changes in the first weeks

As swelling goes down, the gums change shape, so a temporary (especially a full-arch one) can feel bulky or loose for a while. That is normal. We adjust it, and adjustments during treatment are included.

For full-arch cases, the All-on-4 page explains the temporary bridge in more detail.

06 — Questions

Same-day questions, straight answers.

Can everyone get same-day implants?

No. It depends on your bone (the implant has to be firmly held from day one), your bite (strong grinding or certain bite types put too much load on a fresh implant) and your gum health. We assess it from your CT scan and confirm it during surgery. If it is not safe, we tell you and follow the standard staged route.

Do same-day implants cost more?

No. Same-day implants are the same price as our standard treatment: from $1,200 per tooth all-in, and All-on-4 from $9,000 per arch.

Are the teeth I leave with my final teeth?

No. You leave with fixed temporary teeth. The implants need 5 to 6 months to fuse with the bone, and the final crown or bridge is fitted on a second visit after that.

How many trips does it take?

Two. The first for the scan, surgery and temporary teeth; the second, 5 to 6 months later, for the final restoration.

Can I eat normally with same-day teeth?

Not yet. The temporary teeth let you smile and speak, but the implants must not be loaded while they heal. Soft, no-chew food for the healing window, following Dr. Sara's instructions.
